PUBLIC PROFILE

Who are we?

We at the Direct Action Centre for Peace and Memory envision a world in which the historical, structural, and systematic injustices of post-conflict communities are adequately commemorated, addressed, and transformed, thus ensuring greater peace and human security for all. The mission of DACPM is to achieve this vision through education, psycho-social and economic development, and advocacy efforts. Our specific purpose is to reduce the violence against men, women and children by improving the capacity of black men, particularly those who have been directly affected by political violence in South Africa, to address the manifold challenges facing them, their families and their communities.
